Cesar Jonathan Marquez, 23

Cesar Marquez, a 23-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Friday, Sept. 17, near Gage Avenue and Newell Street in Huntington Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Police received a 911 call of "shots fired, person down" about 7:30 p.m., said Huntington Park Police Lt. Tony Porter.

Authorities arrived and Marquez was found in a parking lot suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital where he died 30 minutes later, according to coroner's records.

Porter said it appeared that the shooting was initiated by a traffic accident.

Investigators have not made an arrest in connection with the case.

Witnesses to the incident described the shooter as a male Latino driving a white pickup truck.
