Daisy Flores, a 26-year-old Latina, died Friday, Sept. 4 from complications related to a shooting eight years ago at Malabar Street and Evergreen Avenue in Boyle Heights, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.

Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office, said Flores was shot in the spine in a gang-related shooting. The gunfire left her a quadriplegic, he said.

Winter said Flores died of pneumonia. She was in a hospital at the time of her death.

No information about the circumstances surrounding her shooting eight years ago was immediately available.

im so sorry to say but this report is all wrong she was not a gang member she was a victom of a crime she was in the wrong place at the wrong time... plus i would like for some one to investigate her death beacouse what does a nine year old gun shoot wound got,s to do with her death 9 years after i wish some one could help my family get some answers we think i was the hospitals rejection she entered the hospital with fever an a slight cough on july 15, 2009 i seen her july 16 ,2009 an she was goin to be realesed the next day but instead she had a dificulty breathing so they send her upstairs to ICU were they had to intubate her until her death on sep 4 2009 5 to 6 days before the hospital had inpection rutins were we found out the room were my sister was in did not have a hepa filter witch means there was nothing in the room cleaning infections dust or anything at all thats why no matter how many antibiotics they gave her none of them worked couse she was living with her own bacteria everyone who visit her would go in to see her with no gloves no mask no gown till five days before they were on us making us put gloves mask n gown n they also put a big machine by her door with was a hepa filter machine...... SO PLEASE ANY ONE THAT READS THIS PLEASE HELP US IN GETTING SOME ANSWERS OR A GOOD LAYER BECOUSE I FEEL MY SISTER DIED OF A VERY BAD BACTERIA by the way same story but different person a male same thing happend to him he went in the hospital july 16,2009 and passed away september 4,2009 same day as my sister a cupple of minutes away just immagin the waiting room it was like a terrible sad movie by the way the hospital is WHITE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL located at cesar chaves in boyle heights or call me if u can help us (323)942-1359
