Dalmy Perez De Mata, a 31-year-old Latina woman, and her daughter, Briana, 4, were shot and killed Monday, Feb. 25. in what authorities described as a "shooting rampage" in Baldwin Park.

De Mata's two other children, a 14-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl, were hospitalized with injuries.

The family was attacked immediately after their neighbor, Alicia Rivera Perez, a 47-year-old Latina, was shot and killed inside her home at at 14542 Rockenbach St.

According to authorities, officers with the Baldwin Police Department responded to a radio call of a shooting in progress with gunshot victims. Upon arrival, officers encountered Alicia's son, Roy Perez, 28, on the street armed with a handgun, police said. He was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Authorities said Roy Perez got into an argument with his mother and allegedly shot her. He then went to his neighbor's home on a "shooting rampage," said Det. Daniel Rosenberg of the sheriff's homicide bureau.
