Derrica Dierra Addison, 26

Derrica Addison, a 26-year-old black woman, was shot and killed Wednesday, Oct. 17, in the 11600 block of South Avalon Boulevard in Green Meadows, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 1:45 p.m., Addison was walking north on South Avalon Boulevard when she got into an argument with a woman, said Los Angeles police Det. Nathan Kouri.

The other woman pulled out a gun and shot Addison before fleeing, police said.

Addison was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 3:27 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

It is unclear what the argument was about, Kouri said.
