Eddie Rosendo Lino, 23

Eddie Rosendo Lino, a 23-year-old black man, was shot and killed Sunday, June 18, in the 5700 block of Denker Avenue in Harvard Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m., Lino was walking north on Denker Avenue when a vehicle pulled over and a person got out, Los Angeles Police Det. Dave Garrido said.

The person walked up to Lino, shot him, then got back in the vehicle, which fled east on West 58th Street, Garrido said.

Lino had just left a relative’s home and was walking to pick up some food, Garrido said.

Lino was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:08 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Lino’s wife posted on Facebook that her husband was her “fairy tale dream that came true,” and a “great, caring, loving husband but an even greater Dad.”

A family friend has set up a Gofundme account for Lino’s family. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at (323) 786-5113. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
