Edward Forte, 51 [Updated]

Edward Forte, a 51-year-old white man, died Friday, Aug. 19, after sustaining trauma in the 1200 block of Walnut Avenue in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Forte was found unresponsive at a board and care home, said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.

Authorities were called, and Forte was pronounced dead at the scene about 1:20 p.m.

Winter said a cause of death has been deferred pending additional lab tests. Results will not be available for at least six to eight weeks, he said.

[Update Jan. 12, 2012: According to the coroner's office, Forte's died of natural causes. He died from complications of a heart attack.]
