Edward Lee McMahon, 54

Edward McMahon, a 54-year-old white man, was shot and killed Monday, March 14, in the 10200 block of Sunland Avenue in Shadow Hills, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Police responded to a call of "shots fired” about 6:15 a.m. and found McMahon in his yard  with a gunshot wound to the chest, according to an LAPD news release.

The Los Angeles Fire Department was called and they pronounced the victim dead at scene, officials said.

During the investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant for McMahon's residence.

Several firearms were located inside the house and the homeowner, a 35-year-old white man, was detained but later released pending further investigation.
