Emiliano Esteban Amaya, 39

Emiliano Amaya, a 39-year-old Latino, was shot and killed by sheriff’s deputies Thursday, Dec. 1, at his home in the 11400 block of Pioneer Boulevard in Norwalk, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

“Members of the Sheriff’s Department weapons team were in the process of executing a high-level search and arrest warrant,” said Sgt. C. Marsh.

Amaya was shot shortly before 5 a.m. as deputies attempted to execute a search warrant, Marsh said.

The person sought for arrest was staying at Amaya’s home, according to authorities. Officials made the arrest, Marsh said.

The district attorney is also investigating this case, which is routine in officer-involved shootings. No additional information was released.
