Enrique Zarate Lopez, 31

Enrique Zarate Lopez, a 31-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Monday, May 26, near East 65th Street and North Paramount Boulevard in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 12:30 p.m., Long Beach police officers responded to a call of a shooting and found Lopez and another man with gunshot wounds, according to a news release from the department.

Police said that Lopez and the other man were standing outside a home when a vehicle approached and a passenger fired multiple rounds.

Lopez and the man were taken to a hospital. Lopez was pronounced dead at 12:58 p.m. The other man is expected to survive.
