Evelyn Morales, 70

Evelyn Morales, a 70-year-old white woman, was shot to death inside her apartment at 16236 Cornuta Ave. in Bellflower at about 9:54 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28. According to detectives from the sheriff's homicide bureau, her husband, Conrad Albert Morales, 64, reported her death to authorities after discovering her body in the living room.

Deputies who first responded to the location ruled it as a possible suicide, but homicide detectives were still called in to investigate. On Jan. 29, Conrad Morales was arrested for suspicion of shooting his wife, authorities said. On Jan. 31, the L.A. County district attorney's office charged the husband with one count of murder.
