Jason Jonathan Pina, 20

Jason Jonathan Pina, a 20-year-old black man, was shot and killed Monday, May 5, in the 17600 block of South Santa Fe Avenue in Rancho Dominguez, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 4:30 p.m. Pina and Omar Maurice Williams, 18, were in a sedan going south on South Santa Fe Avenue when a largervehicle pulled up and a person inside fired a gun, said Lt. Holly Francisco with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The shooting caused the sedan to hit other vehicles on the street, and a woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, Francisco said.

Pina was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:50 p.m., said Ed Winter, a coroner’s spokesman. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.
