John Ward Deighan, 56

John Ward Deighan, a 56-year-old white man, was found dead Tuesday, Feb. 17, in the 300 block of West Anaheim Street in Wilmington, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Deighan was found about 7 a.m. in the parking lot of an O’Reilly Auto Parts store by employees arriving for work, said LAPD Det. Greg Halka in an e-mail.

An autopsy found that Deighan, who was pronounced dead at the scene, died of a gunshot wound to the torso, coroner’s records show.

Halka said that investigators are trying to piece together the previous night’s events.
