Joselito Luis Ulloa, 32

Joselito Luis Ulloa, a 32-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, April 29, near Lancaster Avenue and Murchison Street in Boyle Heights, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Ulloa was standing on a street corner with multiple people at a makeshift memorial about 3:45 a.m., Los Angeles Police Det. Jose Ramirez said.

A person pulled up in a dark-colored sedan with tinted windows, asked what the group’s gang affiliation was and fired multiple rounds, striking four adults, including Ulloa, Ramirez said.

Ulloa was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:48 a.m., according to coroner’s records. The other people who were shot are expected to survive their injuries, police said.

It’s unknown whether the shots were fired from the passenger or the driver’s side of the vehicle, Ramirez said.
