Juan Carlos Jimenez, 37

Juan Carlos Jimenez, a 37-year-old Latino, died Friday, Jan. 16, after he was shot in the 400 block of South Azusa Avenue in Azusa, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Jimenez was in the area when he was shot in what police believe was an attempted street robbery. Police responded to the shooting about 4:37 a.m., according to the Azusa Police Department.

Jimenez was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead Jan. 16 at 2:03 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is handling the homicide investigation and asks anyone with information to call (323) 890-5500. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
