Juan Manuel Zamora Jr., a 29-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, April 23, in the 600 block of Wilmington Boulevard in Wilmington, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 8:30 p.m., Zamora stepped outside of his home and was on the sidewalk when a person in a gray hoodie approached him and shot him multiple times, said Los Angeles Police Det. David Cortez.

Zamora stumbled back to his front porch where he collapsed.

Zamora was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:05 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Detectives are looking for more witnesses, Cortez said.

“Hopefully we’ll get some people to come forward, and get some information,” he said.
