Keonta Karnell Daniels, 17

Keonta Karnell Daniels, a 17-year-old black teenager, was shot and killed Thursday, March 27, near South Western Avenue and South 108th Street in Westmont, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Daniels was standing in front of a restaurant shortly before 1:30 p.m. when a white sedan pulled up, said Lt. Steve Jauch with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Witnesses said they heard gunshots coming from the sedan, which then fled eastbound on South 108th Street, Jauch said.

Daniels was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:03 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Around this time there was so many (too many) killings in this area. I heard about this when it had first happened but didnt really look into to it because i was more like dang somebody else got killed!!! Today i just so happened fell across this after leaving a post on my lil bro page who was also murdered in mid day. After reading all the post my heart is really hurting. so many miss guided youth, senseless killings, and dreams/ ambitions never met. Keonta Mother loses a son and the shooters parents as well. its like a never ending cycle. im not saying either loss is greater or less than im just sayin ... Dang we have to stand up sacrifice and fight for our youth. take the time to guide not just our own children but every child we run into... idk im just sayin... God bless everybody...

I remember the first day I met you at Cleveland hs .....you was walking down the halls and me and my sister stop you to ask your name you was so shy all you did was stare at us then you said keonta.....after a week or so you got comfortable around me and my sister ......people didn't know how close we was.....when I was alwayss aangry you would come and smile and make me happy.....it had surprise me when you use to talk because you was quiet......I remember when you left the valley to move back to LA we was talking bout how we was going to be visiting each other but never did......a week and ahhalf before your death my sister had seen you and she was telling me how she seen you and asked if you went to Cleveland and she said that you smiled and said no what Cleveland she said that you said yes I went there and she said you gave her the biggest hug ever.....she was telling me that how you was saying how much you missed me and my sister and you was just thinking about us and it crazy how you seen her......the last thing that you said to my sister was I hope to see you and your sister soon..... when she came home and told me that I wanted to see you she was trying to find you on Facebook but couldn't....then two days later we found out that your that you've died.....I couldn't believe it I didn't want to believe it... I try not to cry...everyday when I get up your on my mind 24/7.....I kept on asking my self why keonta.... I just been so depressed that you been gone.....I think about you so much I called somebody your name...yesterday I finally had broke down the tears wouldn't stop falling... I didn't want to cry cause I was trying to be strong for you....BUT I WISHED I COULD HAVE SPEND MORE TIME WITH YOU...
