Lamar Montez Murry, 49

Lamar Montez Murry, a 49-year-old black man, was fatally shot Tuesday, Aug. 30, in the 1600 block of Hiles Avenue in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records. 

At about 4:45 a.m., Long Beach police received a call about a man lying in the street, according to a news release. Officers found Murry unresponsive and with gunshot wounds to his chest. 

He was pronounced dead at 4:50 a.m. at the scene, according to coroner's records. 

Police are pursuing all leads and do not believe the shooting to be gang-related.
