Matthew Kimo Householder, 33

Matthew Kimo Householder, a 33-year-old white man, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, after being shot near the intersection of West Orange Grove Avenue and North Gilbert Street in Pomona, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

On the morning of Nov. 19, Pomona police responded to call about a shooting in the area, according to Sgt. Brian Hagerty. Upon arriving, officers found Householder lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the back of his head. He was transported to the hospital where he died two days later at 5:05 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Another man was also found nearby with cuts to his hands from jumping several fences to escape gunfire. He was also taken to the hospital and later released, Hagerty said.

Detectives said Householder and the man, who did not know each other, were walking down the street when a dark-colored sedan pulled over and a gunman stepped out and opened fire on the men.

Hagerty said a motive has not been determined and police are pursuing all leads.
