Michael Wayne Foster, a 23-year-old black man, was fatally shot Thursday, Sept. 8, in the 9900 block of South San Pedro Street in Green Meadows, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Shortly after 6 p.m., Foster and another person were sitting inside a light-colored Audi at a tire shop when two men walked up and began firing at the car, said LAPD Det. Nathan Kouri.
Foster was struck and pronounced dead at the scene. The other person in the car was not injured, Kouri said.
The gunmen fled east on East Century Boulevard.
