Monte Talbert, 22 [Update]

Monte Talbert, a 22-year-old black man, died Monday, May 16, hours after he was shot in the 400 block of North La Brea Avenue in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Talbert, who was commonly known as M-Bone, member of the rap group Cali Swag District, was shot twice while seated in the driver's side of a car about 10:32 p.m., said Lt. Steve Overly of the Inglewood Police Department.

Talbert and a companion were in a stopped car in the general vicinity of a liquor store when an unknown vehicle pulled up. Someone inside reached out of the car window, pointed a gun and fired multiple shots, hitting Talbert once in the head and neck.

He died later at a hospital.

Police said they have no motive for the fatal shooting.
