Pablo Ortiz, 35

Pablo Ortiz, a 35-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Tuesday, June 21, in the 2100 block of East 14th Street in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Ortiz was shot about 7:30 p.m., officials said.

Officers found the victim, and paramedics rushed Ortiz to a Long Beach hospital, where he died at 8:30 p.m.

Long Beach homicide investigators believe Ortiz was riding his bicycle on the street when he was confronted by an unknown person who fired at him.

Investigators said the motive for the shooting is unknown and is still under investigation.

There are no known suspects.

Man, what story do I tell about my friend since elementary? I regret the fact that I stopped keeping in contact with him after high school. Finding out that he was killed hurts more than anything I've experienced because you can't imagine it happening to such a big hearted person. I have so many stories n thoughts that remind me of how funny you were. I miss you so much bro. Sorry that I was to caught up in things that are insignificant when compared to my childhood memories of your garbage pail kids collection or you being the first homie with a car in high school (at least the only one who
