Robert Lamarr Rodwell, 28

Robert Rodwell, a 28-year-old black man, was shot several times on Wednesday, May 13, while pulling out of his driveway in the 1400 block of 105th Street in Westmont, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

Rodwell was with his wife when someone approached their car and shot him several times, according to  Los Angeles County Sheriff's officials. The shooter fired without provocation, then ran off, authorities said.

Rodwell had just celebrated his daughter's seventh birthday. He was a drum instructor at George Washington Prep High School, according to KABC-TV Channel 7.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Department homicide bureau at 323-890-5500.
