Simon Macedonio Mendoza, 40
Simon Macedonio Mendoza, a 40-year-old white man, was shot and killed Saturday, March 22, in the 11300 block of Medina Court in El Monte, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Mendoza was discovered in the driver's side of a vehicle with several gunshot wounds to his upper torso about 12:32 a.m., according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. A woman was in the passenger side of the vehicle and is expected to survive.
Mendoza was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:46 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
Authorities said that a person approached Mendoza and the woman on foot, fired into the vehicle several times, then ran away.
