Sotai Jamin Jackson, 38

Sotai Jamin Jackson, a 38-year-old black woman, was shot and killed Thursday, June 12, in the 700 block of East 137th Street in Willowbrook, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 10:53 p.m., Jackson and a 66-year-old man were in a dark-colored SUV when two vehicles – a white Ford compact car and a dark green compact car -- pulled up, said Lt. Dave Coleman with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Four people got out of the cars and fired at Jackson and the man, Coleman said.

Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:06 p.m., said Ed Winter, a spokesman with the coroner’s office. The 66-year-old man was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.
