Steven Contreras, a 43-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, Feb. 8, near Whitesell Street and Virginia Avenue in Baldwin Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Contreras was found near the intersection at 7:33 p.m. with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Contreras was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:14 p.m., said Ed Winter, a coroner’s spokesman. An autopsy showed that Contreras died of a gunshot wound to the torso, Winter said.
