Todd James Britt, 51
Todd James Britt, a 51-year-old black man, was shot and killed Wednesday, Sept. 16, in the 7900 block of South Normandie Avenue in Vermont Knolls, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Shortly before 6 p.m., Britt was walking his dog north on South Normandie Avenue when he was approached by a man who shot him, said Los Angeles Police Department Det. Dave Garrido. It’s unclear whether the man said anything before he shot Britt.
The gunman then ran to a waiting vehicle that fled east on West 79th Street, according to preliminary reports.
Britt was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:23 p.m., according to coroner’s records. The dog was uninjured in the shooting.
