Wilfredo Fu, 64

Wilfredo Fu, identified by the coroner's office as a 64-year-old white man, was shot and killed by LAPD officers Saturday, Oct. 6, in the 2600 block of Manhattan Place in Jefferson Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

According to officials, police arrived at the scene and learned Fu was in an apartment holding his wife hostage at knifepoint.

Two officers entered the apartment, where Fu was standing in the kitchen holding a knife as his wife lay on the floor, LAPD said.

Officers order Fu to drop the knife. According to police, they shot him after he advanced toward his wife.

Fu was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. He died from multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

LAPD’s Force Investigation Division is investigating the shooting, as is normal for officer-involved shootings.
