A story for every victim

William Perez, 35

William Perez (2007-07-08)

William Perez, 35, a Latino man, was shot multiple times while riding his Harley-Davidson on Avenue Q-8 in Palmdale before 2 a.m. Sunday, July 8.

When people saw him lying near his overturned motorcycle east of 1006 Cactus Drive, near Tierra Subida, they called paramedics, assuming he had been in an accident. But after discovering he had sustained several gunshot wounds, sheriff's homicide detectives decided he had been shot while on the bike, then skidded to the spot where he was found.

Perez was a union painter and lived nearby with his wife and children, police said. They are asking for the public's help. He was wearing a black helmet, blue jeans, a denim jacket with a green logo and a black leather jacket that night. Anyone who saw him is asked to call detectives at (323) 890-5500.
