Joshua Sutter, a 36-year-old white man, was fatally stabbed Saturday, Jan. 31, in the 38000 block of San Francisquito Canyon Road in Palmdale, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Shortly before 4 p.m., Sutter and his roommate got into an argument that escalated into a physical fight.
Ricardo Medina, a 36-year-old Latino, then went into the bedroom with his girlfriend, but Sutter followed them and forced the door open, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities said that Medina picked up a sword he kept near the door and fatally stabbed Sutter once in the abdomen.
Afterward, Medina called 911. He stayed at his home, was interviewed by detectives and booked into county jail. Sutter was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
