Adrian Gonzalez, a 20-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Thursday, Dec. 22, in the 2400 block of Angela Street in Pomona, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Officials responded to calls reporting gunshots about 10:17 p.m. Gonzalez was found lying in the entryway to an apartment complex and pronounced dead at the scene.

According to coroner’s records, Gonzalez died from gunshot wounds to his head and upper torso.

Investigators said Gonzalez was confronted by three suspects, described as Latinos 18 to 25 years of age.

Gonzalez was a documented gang-member, and officials believe the shooting was gang-related, said Pomona police Sgt. D. Leonard.

“I don’t think it was a random shooting,” he said. “It appears that he was the specific target.”

What the government should do is have a place where all these gang members and their families go live off the grid away from normal people in some kind of projects where only gang members live ( not prison )that way the good people who need government assistance for what ever reason can stay and live in these projects,
neighborhoods in peace. Leave the ones in prison but pick up all active gang members and their families ship them away, the families are a huge reason why these gang bangers continue with their behavior they just look the other way and shrug their shoulders, it's like I've heard before we don't have a gun problem we have a gang problem, if the government can dismantle the Avenues gang in HighLand Park or 18street in pico union, more gangs like these two and others will get soft, sure there is still crime in those areas but those two gangs I've named have lost their strength and people don't fear them like they once did in those neighborhoods. It can be done I've seen it.

Oh believe me I know exactly why Adrian left the country. For the family I do feel bad and it sounds like you are family because the wool is pulled over your eyes. You are right Only God can judge him, I am not judging him. I am stating the facts. I do hope God has mercy on his soul. As I do my loved ones who have passed. I know without the drugs, a he was a nice young man most are. I have seen that side too. As far as Pomona PD , they do not have the time to go around informing families of every little developement in a case, (somethings would jeopordize the case if even the family knew.) They are working. Now having been in your shoes as the "Victims Family" I called once a week and e-mailed every month was always informed of the status as family members it is our job to be persistant and if detectives don't get back with you then there are other avenues then putting them on blast in public then expecting them to give your case every minute of every day. To me that alone shows ignorance and maybe I'm wrong but if you want your Adrian, Ermz, Chucky case solved then this is the wrong way in doing it. Best of Luck I hope you get the closure you and the rest of his family deserve.

There are so many unsolved cases similar to this one, no one is asking for Adrians to be Pomona P.D's priority. Residents of the city of Pomona or family members of victims who have been murdered would like some sort of closure I am sure. Very few families ever recieve updates or following news about the victims, Most families never get news at all. I'm sure Pomona P.D are able to do a whole lot more then drive around and/or chase little kids. They know alot more than what we do about the city they work for. And of course Adrian hated the police and would run from them, just as many others do to, especially when I myself have seen the Pomona Police beat these guys, even if they wouldn't run they would get abused verbally and physically. Not professional at all. The cops aren't any better than a gangmember, they fall in the same catagory. So they say they serve and protect, in my eyes they are doing neither. Adrian did not leave the country because of anything to do with his friend, he left for other reasons in which there's no need to discuss, but since you seem to know it all, you should know the real reason. Also no one is asking the Police to be his or anyones friend, and yes there is consequences for those who choose the gang life, but regardless we are all human beings and if the Police or the system will not serve justice, fine!! We don't need them to, God will provide all the justice we need, the peace and the closer. Gangmember or not the ending results is not up to human kind but to God and him only, no one can judge but the LORD himself. So if there's nothing positive or uncruel that you have to say please keep hurtful comments to yourself. Thank you.

I respect your comment on Adrian, and you're absolutely correct when you say he was a good kid. I say kid because I've known Adrian since he was just a little kid and he was like my little brother. I also believe he left with Christ in his heart, I know how tired he was as well. Just a few days before he was killed we talked, him seeking for help or a way out of the hood, I failed to be there for him, not because I chose not to be but because I wasn't able to be. He was a good friend, and loyal. He was tired though, even though he didn't exactly tell me what it was that was bothering him, I felt deep down something was wrong, I heard it in his voice. He is in Gods hands I pray, and if I had just one more chance to tell him how sorry I am for failing to be there, I would. My apologies to the Gonzalez family for not being there for him. I'm sorry!

Adrian was good kid despite of his mistakes in life at the end Adrian realized what he was doing wasn't good never hurt no one he always had a smile and i knew his hear Adrian did not go down like most people thought he was going to go he left with a changed heart and said sorry to everyone he thought he hurt in any way he died with Christ in his heart he didn't run even doe he could of or he could of defended himself but he was tired of all this nonsense and pain loneliness he felt, yes the detectives and cops might not care but the word of God says vengeance is mine and he was a son of God new born doesn't mean consequences weren't going to happened but God took his spirit before he lost it for good Rest In Peace Adrian Arturo Gonzalez you will never be forgotten we love you
