Alicia Faith Todd, a 21-year-old black woman, was shot and killed Wednesday, June 24, in the 1100 block of East 21st Street in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Long Beach Police officers received a call at 1:13 a.m. about a body in the alley behind 21st Street, between Orange and Lemon avenues, according to a department news release.

Officers found Faith, a Signal Hill resident, lying in the alley, unresponsive. Long Beach Fire Department paramedics pronounced Faith dead at the scene at 1:24 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the head, according to coroner records.

Investigators do not have a suspect or a motive, the news release said.

The caller reported hearing gunshots around midnight, but didn’t call to report the shooting until going outside and finding the body, the news release said.

I would like to say to the Todd family how sorry I am for their loss. It is unimaginable to think that someone could do such a horrific thing to you daughter. My sincere sympathy goes out to your family and to all those she touched in her short time here with us. I have never met Miss Todd or her family and friends. and while I can't imagine your grief, I can say I'm sure that I can relate on a level that is close to what this has done to the Todd family. I'd like to introduce myself my name is Malcolm MacTaggart. Although I stated earlier ive never met she or her family. We don't even live in the same city. It wasn't until the 28th of June 2015 that I had even heard of Miss Todd. It is only because of the unimaginable tragedy the happened to her that I now feel she will always be in my heart as I now think of her almost daily. this is because I visit her often I say hello to her as I tidy up her final resting place. I even ask her if she has yet met my best friend and partner. and that they help one another.I told her that my partner will be there for her family as well has herself. I know that they both realize how unbearable the lives of all they new and touched have become ever since they were taken away from us in such a since less manner. I told her my friends name is Iran Francisco Maese. and wondered if they had met I am pretty certain that they have.The reason I believe so is that they have been living next to one another since June 28 they came to rest forever together in the same place only 4 days apart. Iran was also a victim of the same fate as Miss Todd. when he also was so violently shoot multiple time in his upper body as he sat on the stairs in an alley minding his own business while waiting for a friend to return home. They both are buried next to each other and both of their names are on the same head stone. I am also sure that the Todd family as well as myself and Irans family do not want them to die in vain. They both were good caring human beings and never deserved to have their live end this way. Nor should the family's or the friends and partners of anyone simply killed for no reason be made to endure the pain and emptiness they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. Someday perhaps I way have the pleasure of meeting the Todd's however if we never do I want them to know that they and their daughter will always have the love of someone and will never be alone. I pray that justice comes for us both. Mean while rest easier knowing that Iran will watch over their daughter and is a friend like no other. Alicia Faith Todd was my sister, we are 2 years apart and very close not just in age but in life as well. I do not know why God does what he does but I do not question him as well. Alicia had a heart of Gold and she loved children,she wanted to be a child social worker and wanted to help children. I think what motivated her into that career path was because we had a rough childhood and she, if she had the power too wanted to help other families as well. Alicia may not be with me physically but spiritually she lives through myself and other people. It has been 4 months and I do not cry as hard as I use too, because I know that she is with me always. In the wake of her death she has taught me that I am stronger, courageous and highly looked up to! Thank you Alicia for sharing your life with me, and inspiring me. I love you, always have and always will.
