Angel Armando Cajero, 23

Angel Armando Cajero, a 23-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Wednesday, April 2, in the 2800 block of Manitou Avenue in Lincoln Heights, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Cajero was walking west on Manitou Avenue about 4:20 p.m. when a man approached him and shot at him multiple times, said Los Angeles Police Det. Jose Ramirez.

Cajero was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:44 p.m., said coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter.

Wow....I have been trying to post something I have to say, but the l.a times doesn't post my feelings but they do post other ppls bs. if you don't post this i will be in the l.a times office by tomorrow morning..Whether my son was a gang member or not that doesn't give anyone the right to kill him. he was shot from behind,that alone tells me how much of a coward he was and still is, as for all you nosy ppl posting negative things about my son I suggest you read that it clearly says "share a memory" about Angel Cajero. None of you lame asses knew him but are quick to judge.go get a job and stop hiding behind fake names. Here's a quick message to the shooter.....i'm right behind u....almost had u huh? Well excuse you for thinking you know more than me when your getting your info from where, this website? Look the shooting your talking about in March happened on Griffin right? Well that boy was not a gang member nor was he standing with a crowd of gang members, but yes maybe the shots fired were meant to hit a known gang member considering all the shootings around here are gang related. Even if they don't hit the right person. But that's another story you don't need to know about since your being so critical anyway.. The reason i mention Angel was a good father and man is because these comments are suppose to be for sharing memories about the deceased. Also because people seem to forget that gang members are people like everyone else not monsters. If you have information about a shooting you should be calling the police department but obviously you "did your homework" wrong! Your not a detective so don't try to investigate a case that had nothing to do with your life cause all your going to do is piss people of and if anyone were to find out who you are, you would end up being the next story. . How the fuck do you know he had every opportunity to leave the gang? Did you know him? Did youknow what he was going through?OBVIOUSLY NOT! So you should stop with your comments, talking like you know what's up with the streets when you ain't about that life. .Do you feel the same way when a cop dies? People shouldn't join the police force of their not willing to deal with the consequences of getting shot and killed right? Rest in peace Angel, and once again im sorry for urs and ur daughters loss my sister. For the comment above what's the point of commenting on a memorial which is intended to show your love and support for a loved one who has passed on and only share and spread negativity which is quite obviously unessesary.? If you find that you have nothing nice to say then its common sence and common curtousy to just not say anyrhing at all. Have some respect for his family and don't put this man down. Just keep your comments to yourself. We (his family) are having enough trouble as it is accepting his death and trying to move on, we don't need some negative person who didn't even know him putting ideas that it might have been his own fault that caused him to pearish. To the rest of the family still trying to find the ability to say goodbye Angel was a great father a great husband a great son and a great friend who only wanted to make his loved ones happy. That was his friends little brother, if you do your homework you would know that shooting a month ago is gang related, the shooter shot into a crowd of gang bangers, but ended up killing a relative of those gang bangers instead, if the victim here was friends with those bangers that got shot at, then it's safe to say the deceased was a gang banger too, it doesn't matter if he was a good boyfriend or father the fact still remains he was a gang member and that's the reason why he's dead, what was done to the victim is what the victims gang have done to others, they didn't deserve that either, but it happen and it won't end until these kids stop joining gangs. Bottom line don't join a gang if your not willing to deal with the consequences, the victim here had every opportunity to leave that gang life.

This man was a good boyfriend and a great father. He had nothing to do with the shooting that happens a month before him, that was his friends lil brother! And to the first comment, im guessing your a nosey lady in the neighborhood. You ARE mistaken he was not smasher from clover. But regardless who he was he is human just like the rest of us and we all make bad decisions. Gang member or not this is still a sad situation. A lover is lost, a father is lost, a son is lost, a brother is lost, a good friend is lost. Gangs dont earn respect by killing, they earn respect by standing their ground and by showing others respect! Yea we all live in the same area and should all get along but unfortunately that's not reality.

its sad how this world is nothing but gunshots and killings among the same raza so ignorant when are people gonna grow up its never worth being from a gang ,its a cruel cold world and people will always get in gangs and ruin there lifes i dont know if this person is gang related or not but no one in this world deserves to die the way all these people are dying being shot or murdered but god sees everything god has his list of people who wont make it to his kingdom and to the person whom took the life of this man and the other man that was killed a month ago in the same area as well, will burn in hell karma isnt about revenge and using a A gun ,the revenge that will come is after life in this world hell is waiting for the devil and the people who have the devil inside of them will burn in hell !and suffer What ever happen to a typical fist fight ...really rip to this man
