Benjamin Clemmons, 36

Benjamin Clemmons, a 36-year-old black man, was fatally shot at 1749 E. 54th Street in the Central-Alameda area of South Los Angeles at about 5:35 a.m. Monday, March 3.

He and Norman Strawder, a 56-year-old black man, were standing outside when they were shot several times. Clemmons was hit in the head, torso and right leg. Strawder was hit in the torso.

Residents discovered the two wounded men after the gunfire ended, said Homicide Det. Meghan Aguilar from LAPD's Newton Division. Clemmons was pronounced dead at 5:45 a.m. by paramedics. Strawder was taken by ambulance to County-USC hospital, where he died at 6:08 a.m. The motive for the shooting is unknown, Aguilar said. The two men were not related, she added. Update: On Thursday, April 17, Councilmember Jan Perry announced a reward of $75,000 for the information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects involved in the double homicide.

Wow, It's been 4 years, 2 months and 1day since you left this world. Not much has changed. I often think of you and smile, thinking of how silly you use to be with your wanna be accents. I remember your cheer from the football games "Say what, Say who TROJANS" you making t-shirts and always wanting to sell something. A true hustla is how I saw it. We had so many fun times your sisters and mom your wife and childeren. I often think of them and lift them up in prayer knowing that as the days go by there is still a void. I pray that God has mercy on your soul. Continue to watch over your family and loved ones. Send them signs to make them smile.
