Brandon Lincoln, 20

Brandon Lincoln, a 20-year-old black man, was killed while allegedly attempting to rob a jewelry store Wednesday, Aug. 18, in the 800 block of North Avalon Boulevard in Wilmington, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

The shooting occurred shortly after 6 p.m. when Lincoln and three suspected robbers entered Rios Jewelry, according to authorities. The store owner shot three of the assailants, who authorities said were armed.

One of the robbers fled the scene, while Lincoln and the other wounded person were taken to a hospital, LAPD spokeswoman Karen Rayner said. Lincoln died from his injuries at 6:30 p.m., according to coroner's records.

Two suspects are  in custody, authorities said.

The Times has contacted investigators about the case and will provide more information as details become available.
