Bulmaro Martinez, 29
Bulmaro Martinez, a 29-year-old Latino, was found with gunshot wounds Wednesday, June 1, in the 200 block of South Alvarado Street in Westlake, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Shortly before 8:50 a.m., officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Rampart Division responded to a call of a traffic incident outside a clinic, LAPD Det. Ray Martinez said. The victim had rear-ended another driver and was found inside his silver Toyota Prius.
Investigators think Martinez was shot near Beverly and South Occidental boulevards. Martinez, a father of two, did not belong to a gang and worked as an unlicensed cab driver, police said.
Detectives are looking for witnesses to the shooting, which occurred during morning rush hour.
"The only thing we have is the end result, where he collapses in front of that clinic," Det. Martinez said. "So it's a little weird that nobody would have heard the shots that were fired."
Anyone with information is asked to call Rampart homicide detectives at (213) 484-3642. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
