Corey Quinton Wiley, 23
Corey Wiley, a 23-year-old black man, was fatally shot Sunday, July 31, in the 13500 block of Doty Avenue in Hawthorne, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Wiley and another man were sitting inside a vehicle, about a block from Zela Davis Park, when at least one person approached them and started shooting shortly after 1 p.m., said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Benjamin Grubb.
Wiley was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, Grubb said.
