A story for every victim

Clinic for crime victims to be held Saturday in Westchester

On Saturday, a nonprofit group that advocates for survivors of homicide victims will sponsor a Crime Victims Clinic. The group, Justice for Homicide Victims,  has held such a clinic nearly every year for about six years.

Panels include information on victim services, the death penalty, Proposition 47 and unsolved homicides. The clinic will also offer time for breakout sessions so survivors of homicide victims can speak with law enforcement about their cases. Los Angeles Police Department officials will also give an update on the department’s plans for a digital homicide library, where families can go to get information on older killings.

Various law enforcement officials — including from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, LAPD, FBI and the Inglewood Police Department — will be in attendance.

The clinic will be at the LAPD’s Ahmanson Recruit Training Center at 5651 W. Manchester Ave. in Westchester and will run from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
