Daniel Castro, a 22-year-old Latino, died Thursday, May 5, two days after he was shot near Broadway and Griffin Avenue in Lincoln Heights, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Castro was driving with a female passenger on May 3 about 12:25 p.m. when an unknown person opened fire on them from another car, according to an LAPD news release.

Castro was hit after the bullets came through the car's rear windshield. The passenger, who was not injured, took control of the vehicle and went to get help.

The victim was taken by a private car to a hospital, where he remained until his death May 5, police said. Coroner's records show he died from a gunshot wound to the head.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown and there is no description of the assailant's car.

It's your boy Buddy! Words can't even explain the way your family, my family, love ones, miss you. I remember the day we first hung out. It's was a Thanksgiving day, and we asked if you and Angel wanted to play football. From that day forward we became best of friends (moments I would never forget). There isn't a day that goes bye that I think of you and the good times we had. We were always together having a good time, where it was my house, your house, or grandma Rose Mary's house. It didn't matter, we were always having a good time getting into trouble. Those stories Trampa would tell us, and we would say he was lying, just to get him mad (good times). I remember One day when we were working out at my house, and I asked you if you would be my best man when I got married, and your reaction was just laughter. You stated, that we would never get married and just go out with girls for the rest of our lives. However, the next day you asked me If I would be your best man. LoL I wish you were still here with us all, so we can grow old and reminisce about the stupid things we did. Benny started to fix up my bug. He's going to paint it the green we talked about. I remember you would tell me you were going to get a bug and paint it black, so we can go cruising down broadway. Before this tragedy occurred I would of never thought my best friend would pass away at the age of 22. Daniel I could go on writing, but I would end up writing a book. I know we will meet again one day, and when we see each other we will comb our mustache, since we both thought we had big mustaches, and continue our stupidities once again.

I still can't believe you're gone; it feels like you'll one day pull up in the drive way like you always use to with your bright lights and bumping your loud music. (The song "look at me now" reminds me of you.) I honestly never liked that song... but it reminds me of you so I play it; I have grown to like it... I remember when I would see you, you would always say "what's up big girl"...and i remember when you finally grew taller than me... haha you felt all cool/tall... haha you were funny Daniel.... I also remember when you would always make jokes about your dad and mom... you always had everyone cracking up... Every time I think of you the first thing I think of is your laugh and your smile cuz that's who you were. You had a good heart, and you were so respectful.... I miss you Daniel...well now you got your cousin up in heaven with you... I couldn't believe it... I know i didn't know your cousin very well but the lil I did know about him he was another great person... he would like to tell jokes and make ppl laugh just like you... hope you, your cousin Eddie, our great grandma Nellie, your great grandma Lin, & our uncle John are RESTING IN PEACE<333 I know you guys are all together watching over us... well I should go to sleep now... I believe "Leva" is more like, "bit@h". But in the Urban Dictionary it states, "A term used by Chicano urban/barrio youth to mean that a member of a group has turned his/her back on the rest|meaning that a member of a gang/group has disappointed his/her peers by joining another group/gang."

It seems to me that BIG H GANG is the little bit@h!!! Just like a coward gangbanger to leave a comment and run, just like they do when they hide behind their guns like a bunch of pu$$ies! They ruined a family (only God knows how many others) and laugh about it.

Hell holds a spot for them. They obviously don't believe that to be true or they'd piss their pants at the thought of it. After all, that's also what cowards do. ..They piss themselves and cry. Watch First 48 and see how tough they act once they know they're caught. It's truly funny to see their "toughness" disappear instantly!
