DeeNisha Artimes-Sarah Adams, 22

DeeNisha Artimes-Sarah Adams, a 22-year-old black woman, was fatally stabbed Thursday, Aug. 22, in the 500 block of West 104th Place in Vermont Vista, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 1:30 a.m., Adams was picked up by a person near West 104th and South Figueroa streets, said Los Angeles Police Det. Nathan Kouri.

While inside the car, Adams and the other person got into an argument that escalated and Adams was cut with a “sharp instrument,” Kouri said. Police declined to say what type of sharp instrument was used.

Adams got out of the vehicle and was found on the sidewalk by a pedestrian, who called police.

Adams was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 4:15 a.m., according to coroner's records.

The other person inside the vehicle was identified as Isaac Jacob Germany, a 30-year-old black man, police said.

Germany has been charged with one count of murder, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office. Germany, who has pleaded not guilty, is due back in court Oct. 17, according to online court records.

In an obituary posted online, Adams was described as a college student who was studying to become a nurse.
