Elias Adame Jr., a 45-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Wednesday, Oct. 5, in the 1100 block of East Young Street in Wilmington, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 12:30 a.m., Adame was hanging out at a friend’s house when the other person went inside to use the restroom, said Los Angeles Police Det. David Cortez.
That's when Adame was shot. Witnesses heard a vehicle speeding away, but it’s unclear whether the shooter got out or shot from inside a vehicle.
Adame was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
