Enrique Ramirez, 17

Enrique Ramirez, a 17-year-old Latino youth, was shot in the 3200 block of Tecumseh Avenue in South Gate about midnight on Sunday, Sept. 7.

Ramirez was attending a party when he was shot multiple times in the upper torso, authorities said. He was taken St. Francis Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities did not have further details about the shooting.

Anyone with information can call detectives at the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.

Respect to Bob, and Enrique mom. When I ended up alone on the street I met Enrique. We hung out together and was always fun to be around. His mom used to feed me when I was in need. He was a great friend. No one is perfect but he didn't deserve to go so young. I tried to be there for him emotionally when he needed clarity. That night at the party I had a gut feeling. We were watching a movie that afternoon and I didn't even know about the party until he kept telling me to go drop him off there. So we went I left took a shower and went back to the party and met up with him. The guy that shot him was the one in charge of the door. I don't know who he was. Enrique and I were walking out the party when the guy just pulled out the gun and unloaded it on him. I fell to one side he fell next to me. I had a rupture ear from the shots. I managed to get up I tried going after the guy but he hopped in a black car on the other side of the street. I turned my car on and others from the party were carrying him but by then we were surrounded by gang unit and helicopter. they had me lay on the ground also had the people put him down next to me. I was covered in his blood. I cried and kept telling Casper not to go he was choking, his lungs were punctured from the shots. I lost my best friend. I know I didn't know him longer then solo,dope,maze,logic but I knew him enough to know he was a helping hand. I didn't go to protective custody. I didn't go file a report . I had nothing to be able to help because it was night and all I knew was the guy was supposed to be there to secure the party ,not shoot . No name. No face. But even so I got beat up by Anthony ,Silent,Maze. Then I tried coming around my so called "friends " and got a second beat down . I just wanted to help find the killer. But because I got 2 beat downs. I stayed away from everyone I knew as my friends. I still just hang out alone Enrique was and will be my only true friend. Much love to his family. Even to Anthony. It's been 10years and I still cry over him a few times here and there.

Word on the streets is enrique was done like that because he was a "snitch", at least his own "homies" is saying that. I dont know why he joined a gang if he was living in south gate where its impossible to live a gangster life. Especially when your born into a great circumstance of not living in the hood and given a chance to excel. apparently he screwed up so much and so bad it wasnt even an enemy that did this. I was blessed to have met enrique ramirez.... We spent many fun times together. enrique was an amazing human being with a gentle heart. Those who speak negative, have no clue! Get it right before you post your comments.
A tragedy can befall anybody anytime and we are required to express sympathy with the affected people, with that said, this is for his family, friends and especially his brother anthony who seeing him died . My heart goes out to you in your time of sorrow. Casper was a beautiful person with a good soul. I will cherish every moment spent with him. I believe God saw him getting tired of his struggles and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around him and whispered "come to me".
Casper will truly be missed but never fogotten.

ENRIQUE was a young man of soft spoken words with a heart big enough to fit the world in it. How could someone take another person's life? This i will never know the answer to because I do have a HEART and SOUL. My lil homie casper had everyone's back. He was loved by many and will continue to live on in our hearts and minds as long as we shall live.This has brought so much pain to the family and loved ones.He was a son, grandson,cousin, brother,nephew(to many)- neighbor, and friend to many. It seems to be so unreal; however, I PRAY that whomever did this will be caught and the proper justice will served. If you needed anything he would have given it to you so I just can't understand why someone would take his life like that. People this is an eye opener to us all that "HATERS" do exist and they are toxic to our lives. He is now resting and in a much better place. I love you Casper and you will truely be missed....
