Montebello man sentenced after pleading guilty in wife's strangulation
A Montebello man was sentenced to 22 years to life in state prison in the killing of his wife in 2014, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
On Sept. 22, Daniel Diego Perez, 45, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of Erica Roberta Perez, 39. Her body was discovered Dec. 10, 2014, stuffed in the trunk of a car parked near the family’s home, prosecutors said. She had been strangled, according to coroner's records.
Perez also pleaded guilty to two counts of child abuse for endangering his sons during a car pursuit and subsequent standoff in Santee in San Diego County.
