Erick Gutierrez, identified by the coroner's office as an 18-year-old white man, was stabbed and killed Saturday, Oct. 6, near Irvine Avenue and Strathern Street in Sun Valley, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Los Angeles Police found Gutierrez and another man stabbed about 12:15 a.m. Gutierrez was taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, where he was pronounced dead at 12:50 a.m.

Coroner's records show he died from to stab wounds to his abdomen, shoulder, elbow and head.

The second victim suffered a stab wound to his cheekbone and was transported to Pacifica Hospital of the Valley in Sun Valley, where he was treated and released.

He was such a great friend and like a brother to me he wasn't the bad type of guy. Yeah he made mistakes but hey who doesn't make them ? He was down to earth and understandable. I felt like I could tell him anything and everything without feeling shy or wierd. He was really funny but he was quiet so most people didn't know that because he didn't show that side of him . He was tall and had green eyes and was really skinny but after all he didn't deserve to go that way all because of a girl that had to business messing with him he was just the type of guy that would let himself be disrespected. Of course he was gonna defend him self who wouldn't ?! But stabbing him . . . Seeing you in the box laying there asleep and never waking up going 6 feet under but I'm never giving up save me a place up there because I know even thought you're gone your still in my heart forever .
