Gang member found guilty in 2013 Redondo Beach shooting
A 30-year-old man was found guilty of killing a man outside his Redondo Beach home, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
After three hours of deliberation, Erick Julian Ortega was convicted of first-degree murder for killing Bobby Darin Reynolds, 38.
On June 21, 2013, Ortega, also known by the gang name “Bones,” fatally shot Reynolds and then fled the state, according to prosecutors.
Redondo Beach police later received an anonymous tip in May 2014 that Ortega was working in Utah. Ortega was arrested and extradited to Los Angeles.
