Giancarlo Enriquez Cabello, 22

Giancarlo Cabello, a 22-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Thursday, Aug. 25, in the 800 block of North State Street in Boyle Heights, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office, said Cabello was found shot in a car about 12:05 a.m.

Authorities were called and the victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:37 a.m. Coroner’s records show Cabello died from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Winter said during the investigation it was learned Cabello was approached by a person on foot and was shot.
