Henry Sanchez, 22

Henry Sanchez, a 22-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, July 4, near Dronfield Avenue and Corcoran Street in Pacoima, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Police responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon shooting near Foothill Boulevard and Maclay Avenue about 7:50 p.m., according to an LAPD news release.

Sanchez was taken by friends to a local hospital, police said. Hospital staff alerted police that Sanchez was in their care and that he was suffering from several gunshot wounds.

Sanchez was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.

During the investigation, authorities learned Sanchez was driving northbound on Dronfield when an unknown assailant shot at him.

Investigators have yet to make an arrest, but they believe the shooting was gang-related.
