Herbert Seymour Jr., 31 [Updated]

Herbert Seymour Jr., a 31-year-old black man, was shot and killed Wednesday, Feb. 9, in the 10400 block of South Western Avenue in Gramercy Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Seymour was walking home from a nearby liquor store about 10:40 p.m. when an unknown person approached and shot him several times, according to an LAPD news release.

Authorities were called and Seymour was pronounced dead at the scene. Coroner’s records show he was shot in the head, back and leg.

Investigators said the assailant was seen fleeing the area on foot heading north on Western Avenue toward 104th Street. The killer is described as a black male in his late teens to early 20s.

Police said the motive for the shooting remains unknown.

I still can't believe after all this time no one has came forward to say anything. I get so emotional behind my Freshman because he was a dear true friend. To the person that asked was he gang affiliated, to answer your question, No. He was NEVER nor EVER tried to be one. He was kindest most loving person anyone could have known. He was the kind of man that would give you his last and his shirt off his back if you needed it. He adored his daughter and son. Loved the hell out of his mother, grandmother and sister (sorry ms cynthia) and respected his father to the utmost. He didn't deserve this at all. No one does for that matter. If this piece of a scumbag hasn't been found, he will have his day soon because when its their time, my freshman will be standing there ready to face this low life to ask why would you shoot me and take him away from his kids. Yes, i get so emotional when it comes to Herbie because this low life took someone so important away from me. MY BEST FRIEND since high school. My heart!!! I continue to pray that someone comes foward and has some compassion so that his daugter, son mother father and sister can have peace.
