Walter Jaminson, 42

Walter Jaminson, a 42-year-old white male, was fatally wounded on Saturday, June 8 in the 1600 block of North Wilmington Boulevard in Wilmington, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.

Around 8 a.m., Jaminson was walking his pit bull when a person drove up in a dark SUV and fired shots, striking Jaminson in the torso, said LAPD Det. Julie Scruggs with the Harbor division.

Jaminson collapsed on the sidewalk and was taken to a hospital where he died at 9:28 a.m., according to coroner's records.

The dog was not injured and is now in the care of family members. 

Detectives are seeking witnesses to the shooting.
