Jeremiah Zapata, 25

Jeremiah Zapata, a 25-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, April 10, in the 2400 block of South Raymond Avenue in Adams-Normandie, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Zapata was shot about 12:15 a.m. after getting into a dispute with a suspect who opened fire and then fled on foot.

The victim was found lying on the sidewalk with several wounds to his upper body. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, said LAPD Officer Karen Rayner.

Authorities have not identified a suspect but said the shooting was believed to be gang-related.
