John Paul Villalta, 28
John Paul Villalta, a 28-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, Nov. 11, in the 300 block of Hager Street in San Fernando, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Officials said San Fernando police received calls of shots fired about 10:30 p.m.
When officers arrived on the scene they found Villalta on the ground in a carport with a gunshot wound, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Paramedics were called, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The San Fernando Police Department and the Sheriff's Department Homicide Bureau are investigating the shooting and searching for a suspect in the case.
